CLASSY AFFAIR AT THE WADSWORTH MANSION
Wadsworth Mansion Wedding
I am excited to share this classy affair at the Wadsworth Mansion Wedding in Middletown, Connecticut. Carolyn and Zac planned to have their special day at the Wadsworth and had to deal with challenges adapting to the Pandemic restrictions. My wedding couples have been able to pivot and find unique ways to have their special day during this pandemic. Couples are finding ways to keep their guests safe and distanced by moving their wedding ceremonies and receptions outdoors. In the case of this particular wedding, we got to make use of the entire inside of the mansion without any interruption or restriction. Normally, various rooms are used at the venue for cocktail hour and reception seating. I was very excited to make use of one of their dining rooms and inside bar for photo opportunities. The Wadsworth Mansion is one of my absolute favorite venues to photograph weddings at. The property and building is luxurious and sophisticated and oozes class. There are so many different locations to photograph wedding couples, it never gets old.
THE WADSWORTH MANSION
In 1900, three years after his marriage to Katharine Fearing Hubbard, Colonel Clarence S. Wadsworth began preparing plans for the site of their future country summer residence. Long Hill in the rolling hills of western Middletown was the name. It was an authority on the emerging science of forestry and conservation. Colonel Wadsworth had a concern for the environment far ahead of his time. Working with the nationally renowned landscape architectural firm, the Olmsted Brothers, 500 acres of Long Hill were designed in the tradition of a working landscape. The property was purchased by the City of Middletown in 1994. An extensive $5.8 million dollar restoration took place, which turned the property into a beautiful event space.
